Description: Substandard housing is the most visible sign of poverty in Appalachia. The area's houses and their residents are aging. For the most part, builders aren't venturing to rural counties. Repair costs squeeze many longtime homeowners, and loan restrictions based on the condition of a property can pose other obstacles to home ownership. This short film spotlights advocates seeking to address the lack of affordable housing, as well as the numerous volunteers that have served with Christian Appalachian Project to make homes safe, warm, dry, and accessible.
